Bill Eager
As Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development for the Midwest, Bill oversees all multifamily development activity for POAH’s regional office, directing project managers in the development process from acquisition to financing, construction and lease-up.
Bill joined POAH in 2011 to lead the company’s implementation of a $30.5 million Choice Neighborhoods Initiative in Woodlawn. Since then, POAH has expanded into 17 Chicago neighborhoods, and in the Midwest is also active in Ohio, Missouri and Michigan.
Bill holds 30 years’ experience in economic development, affordable housing and municipal finance. Before joining POAH, he served as Deputy Commissioner for Chicago’s Department of Housing and Economic Development, where he managed the city’s tax increment finance (TIF) and housing development programs.
In the 1990s, Bill worked as a reporter and editor for several newspapers in the Northeast. He holds an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
