An affordable apartment building in Kenwood is getting a program aimed at helping families achieve financial independence thanks to an influx of federal dollars.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced more than $86,200 in funding will go towards hiring Family-Self Sufficiency (FSS) program coordinators for Kenwood’s Greenwood Park Apartments, 1015 E. 47th St. The award is part of a $2 million in total program funding across the Chicago area.
A 122-unit complex, the apartments are owned by nonprofit developer the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH).
